A trip down Memory Lane
The most-storied franchise in the whole NFL started in 1919 and racked up 13 championships over the years, starting with three from 1929-1931.
A team with that much success, starting at such an early age, is going to generate interest in its history, and that’s before you factor in the lack of a billionaire owner pocketing the proceeds.
The Green Bay community, whole state of Wisconsin and world-wide fan-base takes pride in ownership of this team.
So current Packers official historian and career newspaperman Cliff Christl and his wife Shirley dreamt up the idea of the Packers Heritage Trail, a 22-stop retrospective complete with high-quality plaques. Many of the buildings that figured into the Packers’ past are still there, most taken over by other concerns, but some of the stops would be lost forever without the Christl’s help. You would have to dig deep to pull up the information they compiled for the Heritage Trail.
It’s well worth the time to travel the trail on foot or by bicycle (or even by Trolley Tour), but we’ve decided to give you a taste of the trail here. Take a tour on us.
